“We suffer because we have forgotten our belonging to one another and we’ve forgotten the realness of our connectedness. And that includes our belonging to our own being, to our own body, to the earth body.”

Dear Friends,
As we move into the Celtic Spring season here in Northern Spain, my deep winter reflections are finding ways to take expression.

Firstly, the Befriending Our Dragons series is in full swing. Having created our sacred circle, weaving in essential elements so that we feel safe and free to explore our deepest fears, we’re looking at some of the less-than-helpful ways those fears can express themselves in the world.

Utilizing my interpretation of Heather Ensworth’s ARCH model, we are discerning what adjustments are needed, to bring us into greater Alignment, Right-Relationship, Consciousness and Healing.

And, through recognising the way they express themselves, we are meeting our dragons – our long-buried fears that can appear unbidden, especially in times of stress.

Last week, we considered our fear of change, of losing independence and a distrust of authority. As I continue to nurse a painful left heel, I’m smiling, thinking about all the ways that I can stubbornly dig in my heels!

Hmm, what alternative stance might I take?

Others of us might express stubbornness by maintaining a rigid position or resist authority as a matter of principle.

What’s your favourite stubborn posture?

This week we are beginning a conversation with the fear of being vulnerable, inadequate or worthless, noticing how our deep desire to be seen and valued can express itself outwardly through Arrogance.

The following week, Arrogance’s inward facing twin, self-depreciation will be invited to the table.

With each gathering, we are intending to find deeper connectedness within and between ourselves. From here, may we offer greater understanding and compassion to others and our world.

“There will come a day when people of
all races, colours and creeds
will put aside their differences. They will come
together in love, joining hands in unification,
to heal the Earth and all Her Children.
They will move over the Earth like a
great Whirling Rainbow,
bringing peace, understanding and healing
everywhere they go. . .”

Navajo-Hopi Prophecy of the Whirling Rainbow

I get goosebumps when I read this prophecy!

I long to see the day when people of all races, colours and creeds put aside their differences.

And I continue to wonder what is my part?

Another of my favourite authors, Angeles Arien says that the guiding principle of the Warrior archetype is –

Showing up and choosing to be present.

So, this Friday – 9th February at the time of the New Moon, I am choosing to show up and be present!

And I’d love you to join me then, for this month’s New Moon Gathering.

During our hour together, we will

  • review humanitarian principles that seek to protect life and health and ensure respect for human beings
  • spend time praying for reconciliation for the waring factions, within and between ourselves
  • ask ourselves, How can I support the development of Right–Relationships in 2024.
